What we do

Youth Councillors James Jackson, Beejal Valera, Annette Benbow, Daisy Morecroft and Duncan Haslam

Our Mission Statement is:

We are young people working together to change Epping Forest District for the better by voicing the views of young people who want to be heard, to those who can make it happen

The Youth Council aims to give young people a voice in their community

The Youth Council has a number of project groups to make sure we can affect change in the areas we focus on.

The Youth Council seeks to make changes and improvements in the following areas:
  • Activities / things to do for young people
  • Personal safety and anti-social behaviour issues affecting young people
  • Transport related issues affecting young people
  • Environmental related issues affecting young people
  • Attitudes towards / perceptions of young people
  • To address the negative attitudes towards young people by raising the positive profile of the work young people do in their community
  • To address the lack of things for young people to do in the Epping Forest district by maping the youth services and provision and promoting the services on the EFYC web pages
  • To consult with young people in schools and youth centres to find out what issues face young people
