This year is the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, and North Weald Airfield is commemorating this historic event, and the airfield’s part in it, with a special Fun Day organised by Weald Aviation in association with Epping Forest District Council on Sunday 12 September 2010.
We are expecting up to 30 aircraft on static display including Hawker Hurricanes, the Kent Spitfire, Seafire, RNHF Seahawk and visitors from the Air Atlantique Historic Flight. A selection of military vehicles will also be on view with British and German re-enactors.

There will also be community stalls and displays including the NorthWeald Airfield Museum. It promises to be a great day out for the whole family! Youngsters will be well catered for with rides, a bouncy castle, face painting and their very own entertainer – Mr Tickles!
There will be a free shuttle bus service for pedestrians from the North Weald Airfield Museum in Hurricane Way, CM16 6AA. The Fun day is supporting the RAFA 2010 Battle of Britain Wings Appeal and the Herts and Essex Air Ambulances.
