More than 120,000 local residents live within our district. Businesses, large and small are located within our borders. Forests, rivers, market towns and the biggest outdoor market in Europe are among the attractions for visitors. Everyone who lives, works or simply visits our district from time to time receives the services of Epping Forest District Council.

The District Council is big business. We are one of the largest local employers. We run services directly and under contract with major private companies. We provide health and leisure, keep the streets clean and recycle thousands of tonnes of domestic waste. Our property portfolio includes thousands of council houses and hundreds of shops and business units.
We are the planning authority. We collect the Council Tax. We enforce parking restrictions and animal welfare. We own an historic airfield, run elections and do many other things. However, most importantly of all, we work for you. We are governed by 58 locally elected councillors. They are your councillors and the decisions they take are made for you.

The e-annual report provides a snap-shot of the Council’s activities and performance over the last Financial Year. We try to make it useful and easy to use. If you want more information, detailed reports are attached to each summary. You can keep up to date with all the latest council news, decisions and debates online. Read the reports or see for yourself via our webcasts.
