National performance frameworks for local government covering a range of services and improvement opportunities, including Comprehensive Performance Assessment (2002 to 2008) and Comprehensive Area Assessment (from 2009), including Use Of Resources and Managing Performance.
The coalition Government has announced its intention to abolish Comprehensive Area Assessment, and all work on the assessment for 2009/10 has therefore ceased. As a result, the joint inspectorates will not be updating the assessments published for 2008/09, or issuing scores for the Use Of Resources and Managing Performance themes for 2009/10.
