Home Start - support and friendship for familiesHome-Start Epping Forest

Home-Start offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children, in local communities. Home-Start Epping Forest was launched in 1990 and there are also 10 other established schemes supporting families across the county.

Home-Start offers a unique service. We recruit and train volunteers who have had parenting experience themselves. Volunteers visit families with at least 1 child under 5 and offer them informal, friendly and confidential support in their home.

The volunteer enables the family to grow in confidence, strengthen their family relationship and widen their links within the local community. Home-Start recognises that parents play the key role in ensuring that children have a happy and secure childhood and that even the most dedicated parents can face challenges that prevent them doing all they want for their children.

    Our families:
  • Home-Start supported 55 families from April 1st 2010 until March 31 2011
  • All families supported live in the Epping Forest district
