By tradition, each Chairman of Epping Forest District Council selects a charity or good cause to support during their year of office.
Ken Angold-Stephens has chosen 2 charities.
St Clare Hospice is a charity providing specialist care for people living with a terminal or life limiting illnesses in West Essex and East Herts border. We care for patients and their families, providing physical, social, psychological and spiritual support.

Home-Start Epping ForestHome-Start offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children, in local communities. Home-Start Epping Forest was launched in 1990 and there are also 10 other established schemes supporting families across the county.
Home-Start offers a unique service. We recruit and train volunteers who have had parenting experience themselves. Volunteers visit families with at least 1 child under 5 and offer them informal, friendly and confidential support in their home.
The volunteer enables the family to grow in confidence, strengthen their family relationship and widen their links within the local community. Home-Start recognises that parents play the key role in ensuring that children have a happy and secure childhood and that even the most dedicated parents can face challenges that prevent them doing all they want for their children.
