     Funding award: Epping Forest’s Businesses offered £27,000 to  survive and thrive

  • The Ixion Challenge is wanting to hear from local businesses about the opportunities they are creating for themselves despite the financial downturn. The winning business will be awarded £20,000 in cash towards their business development as well as a £5,000 voucher which can be used to buy a range of services, including training courses, and receive a Graduate Student Summer placement, with £2,000, to work in their business to implement one of their business development projects.      New 'Planning for Growth' Workshop from Business Link

  • In response to growth aspirations voiced by many businesses in its latest industry survey Business Link, the government's business support agency, has introduced a ‘Planning for Growth’ workshop to its latest events schedule. Developed by one of the country’s leading change management experts, this full day session provides delegates with an inspirational opportunity to make positive changes to their sales and profit margins. The workshop is offered free of charge to qualifying businesses at a range of venues around the East of England.      Waltham Abbey Celebrated in Essex Tourism Awards

  • Waltham Abbey received much praise and celebrated success at the recent presentation of the first ever Essex Tourism Awards. The Royal Gunpowder Mills and Waltham Abbey Town Partnership proudly received Finalist Certificates in the Best Small Essex Attraction and the Best Tourism Experience categories in recognition of their contribution to tourism in the County. Also, a dedicated volunteer at the Royal Gunpowder Mills, Len Stuart received a Highly Commended Certificate for Outstanding Customer Service. The awards sponsored by Essex County Council, highlight the very best of Essex Tourism and aim to raise the profile of the industry.

 

     Discounted Tourism Training Autumn/Winter 09/10

  • East of England Tourism has secured European and regional funding to enable it to offer half price training to paid employees on courses such as 'Welcome Host' and other customer service training and sessions for new and established businesses in the bed and breakfast and self catering accommodation sectors.
