Grants - am I eligible?

The Council gives five main types of discretionary grants for homeowners, and sometimes tenants of privately-owned properties:

Conversion Grants

Decent Homes Assistance

Empty Homes Grants

The above form is  to be completed for the following grant applications: Small Works Assistance, Thermal Comfort Grants, Decent Homes Assistance, Empty Homes Grants and Conversion Grants.

All of the grants are based to a certain extent on the Decent Homes Standard and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS). Simple guides are available on the 'Decent Homes Standard' and the 'HHSRS'.

The Council has a Home Improvement Agency, Caring and Repairing in Epping Forest, or C.A.R.E. which can advise you how to apply for grants as well as providing a range of other services to help older, disabled or low-income families to repair, maintain and adapt their homes.
